FAQs

How many tapes do you use per wedding

1

It depends on the amount of hours, hi-8 tapes at 120 mins long (2 hrs) of footage & mini dv are 60 mins each (1hr) I usually go through at least 5-6 tapes per wedding depending on the hours.

How do you convert the tapes - how long does this take?

2

I convert all tapes myself, I have a multiple machines set up in my retro studio at home, as soon as I finish the wedding I convert all tapes the next day, so you can have your raw footage instantly (within the week) if you wanted to watch / upload parts to socials.

How does audio work and sound?

3

I can send you sample audio if you have any concerns, however the audio is captured via heavy duty built in mics which most of my cameras have built in, so the sound quality is clean and crisp and has a unique audio quality (which I love!)

All audio is captured on. magnetic tape so this is is how the unique sound is preserved.

wHAT IS THE LIKLEY-HOOD OF A TAPE BREAKING / CAMERA ISSUES SINCE THEY ARE OVER 20 YEARS OLD??

4

Old tech is the best tech, my cameras are machine horses, I have multiple tapes, and always use new ones for shooting your wedding, I am also very experienced and will have at least 6-7 backup cameras on hand at each wedding, It is very unlikely that anything will go wrong, Tapes are also high-grade physical form, even if it gets caught I have the ability to fix all tapes myself very easily, however this has never happened and likely will never happen. I pride myself on being over-prepared for every wedding.
